Kuoni launches campaign to boost customer confidence

Kuoni has launched a new marketing campaign designed to build confidence as the nation prepares for the resumption of international travel on May 17.

The operator scaled back its normal peaks campaign earlier this year, choosing instead to ramp up its marketing efforts with the Get Carried Away campaign which launches today (April 23).

A 40-second Get Carried Away brand film has been released on YouTube to coincide with the launch, and marketing budget has been spent across the operator’s social media channels, online search, emails and website.

Brand adverts will also run in several national newspapers.

“The time is right to relaunch and put the Kuoni brand firmly in the mind of anyone planning an overseas trip,” the operator said.

Derek Jones, chief executive of Kuoni’s parent company DER Touristik UK, said the campaign had been timed in anticipation of the “gradual return of international travel next month”.

Marketing director Dean Harvey added: “The whole campaign has a consistent message, look and feel with the Get Carried Away creative theme throughout.

“It’s new, fresh and reflective of the times. It was always designed to be flexible, so we can dial it up or down, depending on demand and the travel landscape as we head into the next phase of our re-opening roadmap.”

“There are still so many restrictions on travel, we know that flexibility and trust is going to be important to people, so we’ve extended our market-leading Flex+ offer.

“We’re putting significant investment behind this at a time when we believe people will be desperate to look ahead and have something to look forward to.”

Kuoni announced in March that it was extending its Flex+ offer on any bookings made before May 17.

The offer allows customers to change bookings up to 10 days before long-haul travel and 21 days before European trips for any reason.
