South American specialist Latin Routes has added Mexico to its portfolio of destinations to cater to growing demand from agents seeking experiential long-haul tours for their clients.
The debut of its Mexican range follows the launch of Panama, and more destinations will be added later this year.
Cat Davies, senior product manager, said Mexico is a “diverse country with lots to offer every type of traveller”.
“Clients can immerse themselves in the Mayan and Aztec cultures and ancient ruins, discover its dramatic mountains and canyons, and enjoy its world-renowned gastronomy,” she said.
“Our programme will focus on tailormade touring to get right under the skin of this amazing destination and allow our clients to really experience its culture and landscapes.”
Six itineraries have been created, including the 17-day Mezcal to Mole itinerary which is a “gastronomic adventure” from Oaxaca to Puerto Vallarta.
It includes street food tours, wine, mezcal and tequila tasting at vineyards and distilleries, a cookery class, and a chocolate tour – as well as visits to colonial sites and Mexico City’s Teotihuacan pyramids.
Other itineraries feature classic highlights and in-depth experiences.
Felipe Francisco, senior marketing manager, added: “Mexico is a natural fit for UK travellers.
“Demand for Mexico remains high post-pandemic and it’s not difficult to see why: beautiful beaches, vibrant cities, spectacular natural wonders, 35 World Heritage Sites, an incredibly rich culture and history plus delicious food.”
