MSC Cruises has developed a new on board booking programme where passengers can make a future holiday reservation without committing to a specific ship, itinerary or sailing date.
Through the Open Booking programme, passengers can pay a £100 deposit while on board and receive a certificate granting them up to 12 months to select their preferred sailing.
Passengers will receive up to £200 on board credit per cabin if they select their ship and departure date within 60 days of making the open booking, and £100 on board credit for booking within a year.
Agents who made the original cruise reservation will receive full commission once passengers have selected their next sailing date.
The cruise line said the new programme has been designed to complement its existing Future Cruise scheme which provides agents with full commission if their customer books another cruise while on board.
Director of sales for the UK and Ireland Steve Williams (pictured) said: “We want to offer our guests more flexibility in choosing their next ship and sailing date and the Open Booking programme gives guests on board up to a year to make that decision while earning future credit for their next holiday at sea.”
