Norwegian Joy to undergo ‘extensive enhancements’

Norwegian Joy will undergo “extensive enhancements” while in dry dock at the start of 2024, Norwegian Cruise Line has said.

The ship will spend three weeks in dry dock from January 22 to February 12, 2024, during which 64 staterooms and a thermal suite will be added, and the beach club will be expanded.

A portion of the Observation Lounge, on deck 15, will be repurposed to create 24 balcony staterooms as well as 40 spa balcony staterooms which will have direct access to the Mandara Spa.

A new thermal suite will be added to the spa, and will be the largest on any Breakaway Plus-class ship, the line said.

Additionally, the adults-only Vibe Beach Club will be expanded, taking over the existing laser tag arena on deck 20, and featuring new private cabanas.

President David Herrera said: “Delivering exceptional experiences across our fleet is what we strive to do. We have listened to our guests and have taken action.

“With this revitalisation, we are adding some of the most beloved spaces and offerings across our ships to enhance the guest experience aboard Norwegian Joy.

“Guests will have a greater variety of staterooms to choose from and a world class, full service spa to spend their days at sea fully immersed in relaxation.”
