Experiences specialist Not in the Guidebooks has appointed a business development manager “to help deliver its significant growth plans”.
Michelle Thake joining the business, bringing more than 30 years of travel industry experience to her new role.
She moves to Not in the Guidebooks from Ocean Holidays, where she was business development manager.
Before Ocean Holidays, she ran her own travel retailing business with Travel Counsellors and has also worked with G Adventures, Jet2holidays and Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority.
Debbie Sowden, sales director at Not in the Guidebooks, said: “Michelle has extensive experience of the travel industry and a huge amount of knowledge and insight as to how agents operate.
“She will be a great addition to our growing team, whilst helping us to provide even greater support to our agent partners.”
Thake added: “I have been really impressed with how Not in the Guidebooks has developed over the last few years, and I am keen to be part of their success.
“I am a huge supporter of offering holidays that are kinder to the environment and very passionate about how the industry can better support local communities.
“UK holidaymakers are increasingly looking for different and more immersive experiences, and I am excited to be part of a business who is leading the way in this area.”
Her appointment follows news last month that Jamie-Lee Abtar and Huw Price have joined Not in the Guidebooks. Abtar is the new marketing manager, while Price has joined as product manager.
