Not Just Travel looks to fill newly-created head of trade and cruise role

Not Just Travel is recruiting for the newly-created role of head of trade and cruise as it restructures its management team to support its growth plans.

The opening follows the departure of Natalie Holder who was appointed head of trade in May.

The homeworking firm said there is “a lot of synergy” between its trade and cruise divisions so it is key to combine the role to have one person overseeing both departments.

The announcement follows the firm’s appointment of Gemma Outram as cruise business development manager.

“We have grown significantly in the past month, with cruise sales up by two thirds at the beginning of September compared to the same period last year following the launch of our Cruise Mastery programme,” co-founder Steve Witt (pictured right) told Travel weekly.

“As a result, we need someone who is a senior level director to do this job and, ideally, they would come from the trade.”

The firm is also looking to take on staff in business development, marketing, product and negotiation roles, although they will not be appointed until the head of trade and cruise has been confirmed.

“The head of trade and cruise is the most time sensitive and critical appointment and we want to get the right person in as soon as we can,” said co-founder Paul Harrison (left).

“We will wait for that person to be hired and then they will bring people into their team.

“We know we need more people and fast but we want to get the head of trade and cruise in first as we don’t want to bring in employees in other roles and have them be managerless.”

Not just Travel also announced a £1.4 million investment package to support its staff growth plans, and said it will continue to invest as it looks to take on more people.

Witt added: “That £1.4 million takes us to Christmas but we will keep investing more as and when we need to and we will keep ploughing our profits back into the business to support our growth intentions.”
