Protected Trust Services launches in-house directory

Protected Trust Services has launched an in-house directory to allow members to trade with each other.

The directory aims to build a community between travel agents and tour operators and expand members’ portfolios, with hopes to push all members to be in the “strongest trading position in the UK travel trade”.

Managing director Mark Sutton said: “We launched the directory as PTS is home to some incredible tour operators who specialise in an array of travel products and are experts in their field.

“With PTS now welcoming so many experienced travel agents, we felt it was time that our travel agent members could sell both the mainstream suppliers and build relationships with member tour operators.

“The tour operator directory allows members to really be part of a community built on trust. An agent knows when booking with a tour operator that their monies are tracked and protected through the PTS trust account and the tour operators know that all consumer monies received by a travel agent are held in the trust account.

“It’s a win-win situation and allows all PTS members to expand their portfolios and trade relationships.

“We are looking at enhancing every opportunity to ensure PTS members are in the strongest trading position in the UK travel trade.”

Emma Taylor, head of trade relationships, added: “PTS has developed excellent relationships with the mainstream travel trade and our members will continue to benefit from the incredible products offered by the UK trade tour operators.

“The introduction of the PTS tour operator directory is by no means a replacement or challenge to the trade. We simply wanted to create opportunity and choice for members and this will provide a safe haven through the PTS trust model to enhance sales and product portfolios.”
