Riviera Travel has hailed the success of its first agent engagement committee meeting.
The operator welcomed 10 members of the trade to a meeting in central London earlier this month to discuss areas the agents felt Riviera Travel could improve upon as well as discuss wider industry issues.
The agents were chosen from a list of more than 100 applicants and are a mix of homeworkers, head office staff and frontline agents.

Head of trade for the UK & Ireland Tom Morgan said the meeting went “extremely well”, adding the agents were “very engaged” with the Riviera team in attendance, made up of Morgan, chief executive Phil Hullah and channel director Stuart Milan.
“We spent the first 40 minutes or so talking to the agents about what we’ve done with the trade and what we’re working on and then we changed it into an open discussion to hear what they thought of Riviera and areas we can improve on,” said Morgan.
“We had some great suggestions from the agents on things we could do better and how we could make them more comfortable selling river cruise which is absolutely key because, ultimately, you’re never going to sell something you’re not comfortable with.
“Some of the stuff we talked about was a bit eye opening for us and we will use the findings to create an action plan to ensure we address everything we discussed.”
The operator will hold its next agent committee meeting in December and aims to continue hosting quarterly events throughout 2024.
