Seabourn confirms UK trade will be unaffected by sales team merger

Seabourn has confirmed it will continue to have a sales team covering the UK trade, following the merger of Seabourn and Holland America Line (HAL) sales forces covering North America and Australia.

Lynn Narraway, the line’s UK and EMEA vice-president, said there were “no changes here” when asked if the UK market would be affected.

As part of the merger, Rob Coleman has been promoted to senior vice-president of North America and Australia sales for the two Carnival Corporation brands, having previously served as HAL’s vice-president of North America sales.

The changes will also see Steve Smotrys, Seabourn’s vice-president of sales and trade relations, depart the line in September, while Tara Schreiner has been promoted to vice-president of national and strategic partnerships for both HAL and Seabourn.

Seabourn president Natalya Leahy said: “Combining the two sales teams enables us to leverage and integrate industry-leading reporting, analytics and commercial trade programmes for both brands.”

Coleman, who will continue to report to HAL chief commercial officer Beth Bodensteiner, joined HAL in 1999 and has taken on roles of increasing responsibility throughout his time with the brand.

He said: “Our field sales team already is experienced in representing both Holland America Line and Seabourn, and combining forces makes us a powerhouse.

“This will be highly beneficial for travel advisors who already work with both brands, providing consistency, focus and enhanced support for their businesses.”

Leahy paid tribute to the outgoing Smotrys, saying: “Steve’s leadership has been invaluable in his roles at Cunard, Princess and Seabourn over the years and we wish him the best.”
