Seabourn unveils new Mediterranean restaurant following agent feedback

Seabourn is introducing a new Mediterranean restaurant based on feedback from UK agents.

The restaurant, named Solis, will be added to all ships in the line’s fleet, excluding expedition ships, between January and May and will serve healthy dishes with meat, fish and vegetarian options.

Solis is replacing The Grill by Thomas Keller, ending an eight-year partnership between the American chef and the cruise line.

Seabourn president Natalya Leahy told Travel Weekly the concept of Solis came from UK agents who spoke to her “extensively” about the introduction of a Mediterranean restaurant.

Based on the feedback, the line conducted a guest survey which found the “vast majority” wanted a Mediterranean restaurant added on board, “showing UK agents really know their customers”, Leahy added.

“The whole concept of Solis came from our travel partners in the UK so we are really grateful to them for their input,” she said.

“During my first visit to the UK as president, I met a lot of travel advisors and they planted the idea of introducing a Mediterranean restaurant which is exactly what we are doing.

“The food is going to be elegant, refined, sophisticated, tell a story and include some surprise treats and we know our guests are going to be truly delighted by the experience.”

She added: “We have had a very successful partnership with our dear friend Thomas Keller, but it’s a natural progression for us to introduce a new restaurant concept.”
