Steve Martin to retire from BP Travel Marketing

BP Travel Marketing general manager Steve Martin is to retire at the end of this year after 32 years with the company.

Martin joined the brochure distribution company, part of Menzies Distribution, in 1990, and is well-known in the trade.

Ed Parker, general manager for Menzies Response, part of Menzies Distribution, said: Steve has played a fundamental role in the growth of the BP Travel Marketing business.

“It has been a pleasure to work alongside him and he will be greatly missed by the BP and wider Menzies team. We wish him the very best as he moves onto his next chapter.”

Martin said: “I have loved my time with BP and Menzies Distribution but feel now is the right time for me to retire and start on the next phase of my life.

“I have worked with some great people over the years and some fantastic clients. The last 18 months have been tough for the sector, but we are now seeing things pick up again and start to slowly get back to normal.

“I wish David McLellan [commercial and operations manager] and Tom Bullen [head of sales] all the very best taking the business forward. With the support of the Menzies Distribution team they will ensure it has a very strong, sound and sustainable future.”
