The Africa Hub to charge for membership

The Africa Hub trade website has started a membership scheme following a free test phase since its launch in February.

Described as a ‘one-stop’ sales tool, it has an audience of 1,800 agents and operators from 60 countries. Users range from Africa specialists to those who are new to selling Africa.

The new membership scheme charges a subscription of £10 per month or £99 a year, “ensuring its business sustainability and its continuation, offering a product of the highest quality”.

Anita Powell, founder and managing director, said: “No one would disagree that this has been the most brutal and gruelling of years for our industry, so it is unexpected to reflect that developing The Africa Hub has simultaneously been one of the most positive experiences of my career.

“Acutely mindful of the pressure businesses are under, we have kept membership as low as is viable, and have ensured as accessible and flexible a membership as possible.”

Membership offers agents benefits such as training, networking and other resources, such as webinars and fact sheets.

The development plan includes a Q&A members’ forum, recommended property pages and a marketing toolbox.

There is an option for those who are unable to join as members to watch the live webinars for free.

The Africa Hub is committing 10% of all pre-tax profits to charities working for conservation and communities in Africa.
