A training website has launched, offering “impartial and authoritative” information and resources for agents and operators selling holidays to Africa.
The Africa Hub has been established by Anita Powell, founder and managing of specialist Africa representation company Small World Marketing and a former chair of the African Travel and Tourism Association (Atta).
Powell said: “The industry anticipates unprecedented demand for Africa when people are able to travel again, and The Africa Hub helps open up the opportunities of the whole incredible continent.
“Through our network of specialists it offers expertise, insights and a wealth of practical information to those selling Africa post-Covid.”
The site hosts webinars from destination marketing companies and other specialist partners, including suggested itineraries, maps and fact-files.
The Africa Hub soft-launched in late 2020 as a sub-brand of Small World Marketing, which has been hosting client webinars for more than 10 years.
The webinars attracted a wider trade audience during 2020, many of whom were non-Africa specialists, which led to the development of The Africa Hub as a dedicated, separate brand and website.
It features six destinations with five more ready to join, so the site will cover southern and eastern Africa by the end of the first quarter of 2021.
In addition to country coverage there will also be themed topics, such as ‘Family Travel’ and ‘Most Intrepid’.
