Travel recruitment remains at ‘historic highs’ despite dip

The number of candidates placed in new travel jobs dipped in June, but remained at historically high levels, according to C&M Travel Recruitment and C&M Executive Recruitment.

Despite falling by 28% from May’s record figure, June still saw the fifth highest number of placements in the past four years – four of which have occurred in the past four months, with the exception being January 2019.

Last month’s figure was up by 271% from June 2021 and up by 47% from June 2019.

The number of new candidates registering for travel jobs dipped in June by 7% but it was still up by 13% compared to the same month last year.

June 2022’s total was also up by 23% from June 2019.

Following “an extremely busy first five months of the year”, C&M said the number of travel job vacancies has dipped to its lowest level of 2022 so far.

However, numbers remained comparable to previous Junes, down by 1% from June 2019.

Barbara Kolosinska, managing director at C&M Travel Recruitment and C&M Executive Recruitment, said: “June may not have quite matched the volumes that we saw in May, but it was still an extremely busy month for travel recruitment.

“Simply put, the last few months have been some of the busiest we’ve ever seen, with hundreds of candidates being placed in new travel jobs.

“Things are likely to cool down slightly over the next two months as we all get distracted by long overdue summer holidays, but there continues to be a fantastic range of attractive new travel jobs to catch the eye of jobseekers across the UK.”

The figures come from the month’s new vacancies advertised with C&M Travel Recruitment and C&M Executive Recruitment.
