Former Advantage Partnership director and Scottish Passenger Agents’ Association president Ken McLeod is to chair a travel agent steering panel formed by USAirtours.
The panel is made up of nine travel agency managers and homeworkers who have been invited to meet online for the first time.
Monthly meetings will be held to advise the trade-only operator on a variety of subjects including its product range, website content, marketing initiatives, training, documentation and customer service.
McLeod said: “By launching this panel and appointing an external chair, USAirtours have shown that they are keen to hear what agents really think and need.”
The creation of the new steering panel followed a series of agent feedback surveys, according to head of sales Jessie Manzi.
The initiative follows the creation of a dedicated sales support department and a decision to rejoin Tipto to meet agents at roadshows across the country.
The operator, which specialises in tailor-made holidays to the US, Canada and the Caribbean, previously outlined ambitious growth plans over the next two years as it marked its 40th anniversary.
