Verdant Leisure has acquired an 80-acre former quarry in Perthshire and is to pump £10 million into opening its latest holiday park there in 2023.
The 80-acre site in Stanley is Verdant’s second acquisition in Perthshire, Scotland, and will be its 13th park when it opens as River Tay Leisure Park.
It has planning permission for 293 holiday homes. Phase one of the works will begin this March, with 77 pitches created to offer holiday accommodation and holiday home ownership options, plus a new bar and restaurant facility.
Verdant Leisure has also partnered with Cycling Scotland to support the creation of a shared-use active travel path between Stanley through River Tay Leisure Park to Luncarty.
Chief executive Graham Hodgson said: “This is a very exciting acquisition for the Verdant Leisure Group. Perthshire is a beautiful region, and it is easy to understand why it is so popular with our existing customers.
“We are thrilled to be able to develop this former quarry into a five star holiday park and further support tourism in Perthshire. We are sure that River Tay Leisure Park will become a destination of choice in the area”.
Verdant Leisure operates more than 4,500 pitches of privately-owned holiday homes.
Accommodation in its portfolio is available for travel agents to book via Hoseasons.
