Wendy Wu increases Japan capacity by 30% due to ‘overwhelming demand’

Wendy Wu Tours has increased capacity for 2024-25 Japan holidays by 30% due to “overwhelming demand” from agents.

The touring specialist has also extended its “largest ever” Japan sale, offering free international flights for a travelling partner and 50% solo traveller airfare on 2024-25 holidays, excluding March and April.

The sale was originally scheduled to end on August 31 but has been extended to October 2.

Offers apply to tours such as the new 11-day Christmas in Japan, which costs from £7,090; 16-day Essence of South Korea & Japan, from £8,490; 17-day Japan Uncovered, from £7,590; and 21-day Japan by Rail, from £9,890.

Gary King, head of trade sales, said: “Agents countrywide can’t get enough of Japan and have been calling for us to extend these offers which were originally only meant to last four weeks.

“We are showing our appreciation for all our trade partners by giving everyone one final opportunity to make the best of these exceptional offers for their clients and for their own commissions.

“Popularity for Japan is growing exponentially, with departures in 2024 and now 2025 selling out within days of going on sale.

“Capacity is a big issue for the industry, however as the largest group operator to Japan in the UK, we are pleased to advise agents that we have been able to secure an additional 30% in capacity on top of our existing departures for travel in 2024 and 2025.”

He added: “We appreciate securing bookings to Japan has been challenging for agents, which is why we are so pleased to extend these offers, helping agents make the most of the Japan phenomenon.”
