Brilliant Travel targets expansion on back of 35% leap in bookings

The homeworking division of Barrhead Travel is on the hunt for new members after reporting a 35% rise in bookings so far this year over 2022.

Brilliant Travel has already seen 20% growth in new recruits this year with the group expecting to attract further independent travel experts before the summer season begins.

The group’s homeworkers achieved a record-breaking year in 2022, trading up 50% compared with business in pre-pandemic 2019 as new clients turned to travel experts while existing clients returned for long-awaited trips.

Brilliant Travel homeworkers are benefiting from pent-up demand for long-haul holidays, with profits for tailormade holidays up by 66% so far this year, as they dynamically-package holidays under the group’s bonding arrangements.

Tailormade trips to Orlando, New York, Maldives, Boston and Canada are among the top-selling options.

Brilliant Travel has bolstered back-end services and technology to support the planned expansion, including a new reporting system which will provide in-depth analysis for individuals about their businesses.

Regional networking events and exclusive supplier webinars have also been introduced.

Brilliant Travel director Linda Pyle said: “I believe the service we offer our members is the most personal in the industry. We’re not aiming to be the largest homeworking network, but we’re certainly unrivalled in terms of support, product range and opportunities.

“Business is booming for our existing homeworkers and a lot of this can be attributed to the access they have to our varied suppliers and having the opportunity to create completely unique, financially protected holiday packages for their clients.

“From the conversations we are having with prospective travel experts, there’s clearly an appetite for making the move to become an independent homebased agent.”

She added: “Travel demand is not slowing down anytime soon and we’re seeing that agents are searching for a network they can trust ahead of the busy summer season.

“For us, we’re looking for high quality experienced advisors who can deliver personalised service to their clients. Having dedicated business development managers in place means we are also able to help accelerate business plans and support help our agents maximise their profitability.”
