Disney’s two theme parks in California are due to reopen next month under new rules imposed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The company will limit attendance, require masks for those aged two and above, and have temperature screenings at some locations.
Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure park are planned to reopen on April 30 after being shut for more than a year.
Disney said the re-opening in California will mean the return of about 10,000 jobs.
Admission will be restricted to residents of California “until further notice” in line with current state guidelines.
“Upon reopening, certain parks, hotels, restaurants, attractions, experiences and other offerings will be modified or unavailable, will have limited capacity and will be subject to limited availability or even closure, and park admission and offerings are not guaranteed,” Disney said.
“Given theme park capacity will be significantly limited to comply with governmental requirements and promote physical distancing, we will manage attendance through a new theme park reservation system that will require all guests to obtain a reservation for park entry in advance.
“While it may be a bit different from the last time you visited, together we can find new ways to create magical moments together – and memories to treasure forever,” the company’s website said.
Disney has already opened in other locations, such as Florida and Beijing, at reduced capacity. Its parks in Paris and Hong Kong Kong have reopened, only to be shut again.
