Havila Voyages introduces ‘Northern Lights Promise’

Passengers will be eligible for a free cruise if they fail to view the Northern Lights on Havila Voyages sailings along the Norwegian coast this winter.

The new line is so confident that its ships offer the “perfect viewing platform” for the Aurora Borealis that it has introduced a ‘Northern Lights Promise’.

The initiative means any passengers booking a 12-day voyage between Bergen and Kirkenes will be eligible for a free six- or seven-night voyage, if the natural phenomenon does not appear during their trip.

The promise is valid for departures between October 1 and March 31 next year. The replacement trip will take place the following winter.

Prices for the 12-day round trip start at £873 per person cruise-only in an inside cabin for departures in November.

Head of UK sales Matthew Valentine said “The introduction of a Northern Lights Promise clearly demonstrates how strongly we believe that our brand-new ships are the best place from which to see the Northern Lights.

“Those seeking out the Aurora Borealis don’t need to stand out in the cold for hours, they can watch the arctic skies from our onboard jacuzzi or head to the lounge where a glass roof and reclining chairs make for uninterrupted views of the Arctic sky.”

Havila last week unveiled an onboard credit offer meaning that anyone booking a 12-day round trip by October 31 will also qualify for NOK5,000 per cabin (£410) to spend onboard, regardless of cabin category on all departures until the end of December 2023.
