Manchester gains fourth UK Yotel

Yotel is targeting ‘tech savvy’ travellers by opening its fourth UK hotel in Manchester this month.

The former Qbic hotel on the corner of Deansgate and John Dalton Street has been rebranded with 261 ‘cabins’ ranging in size from 15–26 sqm.

The property’s green credentials include energy efficient LED lighting which automatically turns off when not needed, solar panels to generate electricity and eco-friendly showers that reduce water usage.

Other features include a restaurant, bar, fitness studio and meeting places. Room rates start at £99 a night.

The Yotel Manchester Deansgate follows an acquisition by Tristan Capital Partners and Hamilton Hotel Partners, who will also manage the business.

It joins openings in Edinburgh, Glasgow and London as part of an 18-strong portfolio including properties in Amsterdam, Istanbul, New York and San Francisco. The next Yotel is due to open in Miami in early 2022.

Chief executive Hubert Viriotsaid: “We’re delighted that Manchester is the location of our newest hotel.

“Home to world-famous football clubs, Europe’s fastest-growing tech hub and a vibrant economic powerhouse, the city has always been high on our agenda.”

Hamilton Hotel Partners partner Frank Croston added: “Hamilton Hotel Partners is delighted to have partnered with Tristan Capital Partners in the acquisition of the hotel and to be operating Yotel’s latest addition to its UK portfolio going forward.

“Yotel Manchester Deansgate enjoys an excellent location in a market recovering strongly; our team at the hotel are thrilled to see this hotel take the next step with a well-known global brand.”
