The number of job-seekers hunting for travel roles rose last month by 18% year on year, according to latest figures from C&M Travel Recruitment and C&M Executive Recruitment.
Vacancies though jumped by 65% from August – their highest level in four months and an increase of 45% from September 2021.
But the number of job placements dipped by 11% in September and fell back to its lowest level since February.

Despite this, last month’s placements figure was up 32% from September last year and was level with September 2019 and up by 16% from September 2018.
Barbara Kolosinska, managing director at C&M Travel Recruitment and C&M Executive Recruitment, said: “It was another very positive month for travel recruitment, with new candidates, vacancies and job placements all above their historical averages.
“In particular, recent months have seen a huge increase in both vacancies and placements in the business travel sector, and we expect experienced business travel consultants to continue to be in extremely high demand in the months ahead.”
