Travel Counsellors sees surge in last-minute summer holiday demand

Travel Counsellors has reported a total of 17 consecutive months of “unparalleled” sales.

Group sales for June hit £76.6 million, up 14.5% year-on-year, with leisure sales for the month reached £54.9 million, an increase of 15.1%

The result was attributed to more customers making late bookings for summer holidays.

The most popular destinations for those still booking for this summer are Majorca, the Greek islands, Croatia and Portugal.

The company also reported sales of over £4.3 million on the last Friday in June – the most successful day of the month.

June saw 64 Travel Counsellors achieve their best ever sales month, with four exceeding £300,000 and one for more than £500,000.

Business travel sales rose 13.2% to £21.7 million last month over June 2022.

UK managing director and chief commercial officer Kirsten Hughes said: “It is great to see sales figures still looking strong at this point in the year, with growth continuing each month which is thanks to the hard work, commitment and care shown by our individual Travel Counsellors and colleague community.

“We have seen a surge of demand for last-minute holidays as well as people now planning further ahead, including for departures next winter.

“The figures also come off the back of our recently launched refreshed brand identity as we continue to build on this positive momentum and move into the next phase of our journey.

“We remain focused on supporting our travel entrepreneurs to scale their businesses in a way that suits them, armed with our personal, digital perform and the knowledge of the global community, and we know that this is crucial to the continued success across the business.”
