VisitBritain offers £450,000 in grants to drive inbound tourism

A second round of funding for Destination Management Companies and inbound tour operators to support driving inbound bookings has opened for applications.

The £450,000 VisitBritain DMC and inbound tour operator amplification and distribution fund is open to eligible firms to apply for grant funding to develop and market tourism to the UK for 2023.

The fund is available to DMCs and inbound operators who can develop and market new British itineraries, with a focus on driving tourism throughout the year and across more of the country.

These should be incorporated into the 2023 sales efforts of international operators in the fund’s target markets including Australia, Europe, the Americas, the Gulf Co-operation Council markets, Hong Kong, India, Japan and South Korea.

DMCs and inbound operators who meet the qualifying criteria can apply for individual grants of about £40,000.

Applications are open with applicants having until December 15 to apply for activity to run from February to June 2023.

VisitBritain Chief Executive Patricia Yates said: “We are delighted to announce this second grant funding round, in response to a clear ask from the industry, to support DMCs and inbound tour operators drive bookings to Britain in 2023.

“As well as building back inbound visitor spending we want to broaden travel itineraries, boosting inbound visits across more of the year and across more of Britain, supporting local businesses, destinations and economies.”
