Carnival Cruise Line plans for its entire fleet to have resumed operations by the time its Alaska itineraries restart in May.
The cruise giant confirmed the next phase of its 2022 fleet deployment plans today.
Carnival Elation will sail out of Jacksonville, Florida, from April 23 to October 13 once it repositions from Port Canaveral, Florida.
Carnival Freedom will move from Miami, Florida, to Port Canaveral to pick up itineraries previously operated by Elation.
Carnival Spirit will take over from Carnival Freedom in Miami including the April 17 departure from Miami to Seattle, Washington, previously assigned to Carnival Freedom.
In Seattle, Carnival Spirit will operate cruises to Alaska from May to September 2022. Sailings are now on sale.
Carnival Splendor will reposition to Seattle and operate Alaska sailings that were going to be operated by Freedom.
Once Splendor’s Alaska season finishes, it will reposition to Sydney, Australia, and Spirit will return to Miami.
The line is contacting passengers and agents about the deployment changes. Bookings will be transferred to new ships.
Passengers will not have access to their booking for up to two weeks as Carnival completes the changeover process and finds equivalent cabin grades.
Carnival Cruise Line president Christine Duffy said: “We appreciate everyone’s patience as we work through this process.
“We are excited to have every Carnival Cruise Line ship in the fleet sailing again by May and to be back in all 10 US homeports. We are also continuing to make plans for a return to guest operations in Australia upon completion of our Alaska season.”
