Barrhead agent scoops Alaska cruise in HAL competition

Barrhead Travel agent Anne Macaldowie has scooped a seven-night Alaska cruise after entering Holland America Line and Travel Weekly’s HAL-ASKA competition.

Macaldowie, who works in the Canada team at Barrhead’s Glasgow Gordon Street branch, was presented with her prize by HAL business development manager Lucy Davies after entering the competition to mark the line’s 75 years of cruising in the region.

She has won a seven-night cruise in a Verandah stateroom for two in spring 2024, sailing the Inside Passage onboard Pinnacle-class ship Koningsdam.

The HAL-ASKA competition ran earlier this year and included a webinar featuring Travel Weekly editor-in-chief and Karen Farndell, HAL’s sales & marketing director.

Farndell said: “We had a great response to the HAL-ASKA competition, thank you to everyone who entered. Well done to Anne at Barrhead Travel, we can’t wait to hear all about her trip of a lifetime to Alaska in the spring!”

Huxley added: “Holland America Line really has agents at its heart, and Travel Weekly was delighted to team up on this fantastic HAL-ASKA competition. Congratulations to our winner Anne, and thanks to everyone who took part.”
