Ex-Egencia director joins Business Travel Association

Andrew Clarke has been named as new interim strategic director at the Business Travel Association.

He was most recently senior director of customer success at Egencia, the corporate travel arm of Expedia Group.

Prior to his role at Egencia, he held a range of director and managerial roles at CWT and Millennium & Copthorne Hotels.

Clarke will be involved in planning the BTA’s move from being office-based to a virtual organisation, managing content programmes for members and partners for the rest of 2021, and helping to deliver the organisation’s conference in September.

He will also work alongside the core BTA team in showcasing the crucial role business travel plays in the UK and the wider global economy.

BTA chief executive Clive Wratten said: “I am so pleased to welcome Andrew to our growing team, and I am thrilled we have been able to secure someone with so much knowledge and passion for our industry.

“The BTA and our beloved sector will benefit hugely from his breadth of experience, drive and can-do attitude. Andrew’s hire reaffirms the BTA’s ongoing commitment to business travel, and our promise to step up our fight to re-energise our industry.”

Clarke added: “Having seen first-hand the fantastic output the BTA has achieved over the last few years, it is a great privilege to be working alongside Clive and his dedicated team.

“I am really looking forward to supporting the BTA’s visibility across the sector as our member and partnership base continues to grow and thrive.”
