Homeworking agency InteleTravel has recruited Chris Walsh as head of finance to its London-based management team.
Walsh was most recently financial controller for JTA Travel Group and has extensive experience both inside and outside the industry, having held financial management positions at Solmar Villas, Ilkeston Co-op and Derby Moor Academy.
He said he was excited to be joining the agency in a newly created role at a time of rapid growth.
InteleTravel has more than 18,000 advisors in the UK and Ireland and has reported a record start to the year.
“This is an opportunity to work with great people and be part of the InteleTravel journey as it grows and further develops,” he said.
“The priorities are to fully understand the business and admin functionality and then assess if we can apply appropriate productivity improvements and efficiencies.”
Walsh said his experience outside the industry was valuable, but he preferred working in the travel industry.
“The travel industry drags you back because it’s so exciting. Managing cashflow, forecasting and budgets suit my skill set” he added.
Tricia Handley-Hughes, UK and Ireland managing director, said: “We are delighted Chris has joined us.
“He has a great track record and will be a valuable asset as we continue to go from strength to strength.”
In his spare time, Walsh is a Derbyshire County Cricket Club Pathway Coach, supporting the development of children and teens playing cricket.
