A travel agency’s fifth anniversary event turned out to be its busiest ever day with 49 bookings worth more than £130,000.
Market Place Travel in Burton-upon-Trent invited customers to join its anniversary celebrations, which also included the launch of its luxury appointment lounge.
Managing director Mark Lomas said: “The shop was immensely busy and there was an amazing atmosphere. We had our busiest day ever in our five years of trading, making of 49 bookings totalling just over £130k turnover and £15k profit.”
Customers who went to the event were served ice creams, Prosecco, soft drinks and its own homemade blue Market Placed Travel cocktails.
All clients who booked were entered into a prize draw to win a four night P&O Amsterdam cruise, with the winner announced at 5pm that day by video on social media.
The new first floor appointment lounge is offering clients the chance to enjoy a more personal booking experience in a quieter environment with one of the team, and is particularly suited for complex or group bookings and special occasion bookings such as weddings and honeymoons.
