Miles Morgan Travel has recruited a travel agent who fled the war in Ukraine to find refuge in the UK.
Olga Matveiuk joined in October and is running the foreign exchange counter at the group’s Monmouth branch.
She met owner Miles Morgan at an agricultural show in Usk, Wales, in September.
He said: “I was at the stand giving out prosecco and she introduced herself as Olga from Kyiv and, quite shockingly, told me she was a travel agent in Ukraine. She came here with her daughter.
“She asked if there was a job opportunity. We had a vacancy in foreign exchange and were in a position financially to take her on.”
Morgan added: “I just thought I had to do this. It was the right thing to do.
“It’s all about confidence and she’s full of ideas on how to help the business.”
