Miles Morgan Travel has launched a TV advertising campaign on ITV in its heartland of the southwest and Wales.
The miniple’s chairman and founder, Miles Morgan, stars in the 30-second advertisement, which is being shown during peak and off-peak programmes.
He said the 19-branch chain is spending “tens of thousands” on marketing during the current peaks season and has resumed TV advertising “as it works for us”.
“We have had a really good reaction to the advert,” he said.
He said the agency had regularly advertised on TV before the pandemic and found it was worthwhile, despite the rise of online rivals such as Amazon Prime and Netflix, because the medium reaches the right audience.
“Marketing is a crucial part of what we do – we never shy away from spending,” he said. “We’d rather fight than hibernate.”

Miles Morgan Travel to open 19th branch
The advert also promotes the chain’s newest outlet in Clevedon, which Morgan said has started very well since it opened in January.
Morgan is featured browsing brochures in a branch and saying: “Borders are open, vaccinations are done – so what will your next holiday be?”
The advert highlights how the chain can sell holidays departing from Bristol airport with operators such as Jet2, Tui and easyJet holidays, as well as voyages with major cruise lines.
“Wherever you choose, call into your local Miles Morgan Travel shop for great prices, expert advice and a friendly face,” the advert concludes.
Morgan is also a familiar face on BBC regional TV as he appears regularly on BBC TV Points West, answering viewers’ questions about travel.
