Not Just Travel and its recruitment arm The Travel Franchise has reported two consecutive months of record recruitment, with more than 100 people joining the homeworking agency in the past 12 months.
The company said it had seen “formidable growth” in membership and hailed the business performance of new starters including a former nurse who has made £105,000 in sales during her first 55 days as an agent.
It said it was seeing growing interest from older people looking to supplement their retirement pots.
And it claimed December 2022 was a record month in terms of number of new recruits, with January subsequently breaking the same record.
Co-founder Paul Harrison said he believed the franchise operation had more consultants joining per month than “most other travel franchises have per year”.
But he insisted the company was committed to quality recruitment rather than pure numbers of new starters.
“We are seeing formidable growth in people wanting to invest in a homeworking travel agency as they seek work/life flexibility, travel opportunities and financial rewards,” he added.
“With the current cost-of-living crisis, people want more income – and on their terms.
Harrison predicted agents would be able to capitalise on the current “travel boom”, saying strong demand was “set to continue for several months”.
Business development manager Paula Barker also hailed the success of new recruits, adding: “I have never seen so many consultants be successful so quickly. One consultant, a nurse, has done £105k in the 55 days she has been with us.”
The company said three franchisees had received full refunds of their franchise fees in January, having hit first-year sales targets set through its Money Back Challenge.
