A record 120 Travel Counsellors met at The Vox in Birmingham recently for the company’s first in-person corporate travel conference in three years.
The event last weekend came as the agency reported its highest value post-Covid corporate booking week, with business travel sales now at 124% of 2019 levels.
The theme of the conference was ‘Win/Retain/Grow’ and industry figures provided delegates with information and advice.
The one-day event also showcased Travel Counsellors’ recent sales drive, including the securing of more than £5 million in business with new small and medium-sized enterprises.
Kieran Hartwell, managing director of corporate travel at the company, congratulated corporate TCs for their resilience during the pandemic, and Paul Storey, corporate product manager, updated attendees about product and digital developments.
The guest speaker was Chris Weedon, vice-president of global sales and services at GlobalStar Travel, who offered advice about SME clients.
Travel Counsellor Clare Bennett, who recently hit the £750,000 sales benchmark, shared the story of her progress from support team member to business owner.
Hartwell said: “In the past, we have seen huge results from providing our corporate TCs with their own dedicated conference that caters to their goals and skill set, and we know it is more important than ever before to empower our TCs with the tools to navigate the post-pandemic travel landscape.
“It is an exciting time as people return to travel and we look forward to further supporting our TC’s as seeing their continued growth and success.”
