Travel Counsellors develops twin initiatives to boost cruise sales

Travel Counsellors has introduced two new initiatives to help boost its cruise business.

The homeworking group is also running a ‘Set Sail’ programme open to 150 agents who are new to cruise sales and want to integrate cruising into their businesses.

Cruise ambassadors will also be appointed to support both seasoned cruise experts and those new to the sector.

The drive follows record cruise sales for the company, with last year’s figures exceeding £60 million and 58% of travel counsellors making a cruise booking.

The six-month Set Sail programme will offer a mix of digital, virtual, and live sessions, featuring monthly spotlight sessions with key suppliers, support team colleagues and cruise ambassadors.

Those who complete the Set Sail scheme will also have the exclusive opportunity to experience Norwegian Cruise Line’s new ship Aqua on a three-night sailing before its maiden voyage next year.

Travel Counsellors is looking for cruise ambassadors within the community to support the programme, following the introduction of specialists for Disney and adventure and touring.

Head of cruise Janet Whittingham said: “We are committed to empowering our travel entrepreneurs with the tools and knowledge they need to scale their business in a way that suits them.

“The Set Sail programme and the appointment of cruise ambassadors are designed to help our community embrace the booming cruise market and record sales that we are seeing.

“We believe these initiatives will not only deepen their expertise but also provide unique opportunities to experience the latest in cruise offerings and help our customers fall even more in love with exploring the world through cruising.”
