Travelscene lifts Internet profile

SHORT-break specialist Travelscene has increased its Internet presence but insisted it will not hit sales through agents.

The operator has already put its cities, Paris and Amsterdam and Eurostar programmes on-line and is now offering agents brochures to scan onto their own sites.

It has also signed a deal with on-line agency dreamticket.com which by September will be able to offer customers the opportunity to book Travelscene products on-line.

Far from losing business to technology, Travelscene sales director John Harding said downloading brochures onto their own sites will help increase agents’ business.

“Agents using our brochure material on their own sites have seen a marked increase in bookings,” he said. “This is a graphic illustration that travel Web sites can help attract business rather than drawing it away.”
