Prices start at £1,019 for a package combining three nights in bed-and-breakfast accommodation in Havana and 11 nights in anall-inclusive property in the resort of Varadero.
n BA launches second weekly flight to havana
British Airways has launched a second weekly non-stop flight between Gatwick and Havana. The Wednesday service will supplement BA’s Saturday service and be operated by a Boeing 767. This will mean the airline now offers a total of 735 seats a week to Cuba.
n sol melia opens new hotel in varadero
Sol Melia has opened the all-inclusive five-star deluxe Hotel Paradisus hotel in Varadero. A sister property to the two Paradisus hotels in the Dominican Republic and Mexico, it has 421 rooms, nine bars and restaurants, a pool and a range of sports activities.
n Adventure park under construction
An adventure park is being built in a mountainous area close to the Guardalavaca beach resort. It will include rocky areas for climbing and trekking as well as opportunities forpotholing and diving in underground lakes. The23-square mile park, which should be finished by the end of this year, will also offer less strenuous activities for children and older visitors.
