Ukraine specialist Bob Sopel Ukrainian Travel is increasing access to the battlefields, palaces and resorts of the Crimea this summer with the launch of a new charter series.
The Gatwick-Simferopol flights, operated by Ukraine International B737-300, will run in May and September. If they are popular, the operator will be able to increase capacity.
The seven-night Crimea packages cost from £399 and 14-night packages start at £499. Other charters will operate from Gatwick and Manchester to Lviv and Ivano-Frankivsk, serving the Carpathian mountain resorts in the west of the country.
Managing director Bob Sopel said:”Four or five years ago, hotel prices in Ukraine were horrendous. Now hoteliers have opened their eyes to western currency and prices are cheaper. “Standards are much improved, too. A few years ago we would have been cautioning clients on what to expect – now we can confidently offer them the alternatives available.”
Three-night city breaks to Kyiv start at £389, including ex-Gatwick flights, transfers, three-star accommodation in the city, insurance and visa.
