n radisson seven seas to order new vessel


Radisson Seven Seas Cruises is set to order a new 700-passenger ship within the next few weeks, according to president Mark Conroy. The new ship is expected be around 46,000-50,000 tons in size and will be built either in Italy or at the Cammell Laird shipyard in the UK. It will be a sister vessel to Seven Seas Mariner, which is scheduled to be delivered in late February next year. Like Mariner, the new ship will be an all-suite, all-balcony vessel.


n legend plans new cruise itinerary


Gibraltar-based Legend Cruise Company plans to operate three and four-night itineraries out of the Dominican Republic from this October. It will use Royal Olympic Cruises’ ship Odysseus, which it has chartered and renamed Joywave, to carry out the programme.


n royal caribbean confirms ship order


Royal Caribbean International has confirmed two further orders for sister ships to the 142,000-ton Voyager of the Seas, the largest passenger ship in the world. The fourth and fifth ships in the series will be built at a Finnish ship yard and are scheduled for completion in 2002 and 2003.


n marco polo calls in at new dover terminal


Orient Lines’ ship Marco Polo was the first vessel to call at Dover’s new second cruise terminal. The850-passenger ship visited the port on May 26.
