Rose Hall resort offers new upmarket option on Jamaica
RITZ-CARLTON claims its new Rose Hall resort will be Jamaica’s first truly upmarket destination and will attract a new type of holidaymaker to the island.Located in the Montego Bay area four miles northeast of the airport, the beachfront property was originally a plantation house. When it opens in August it will have 430 rooms, a spa, a golf course and 15 acres of landscaped grounds.
The resort’s director of marketing Tracey Fentem said:”This will attract loyal Ritz-Carlton customers who might not consider travelling to Jamaica otherwise. The destination is virtually untapped in our market arena, despite the fact it is so accessible. One of the major factors in choosing Jamaica was its good airlift from the UKand US.” The group already owns properties on St Thomas and San Juan in the Caribbean and has plans for a development in Grand Cayman in 2002.
