JMC starts £2.8m advertising drive
JMC claims to be breaking with industry tradition by launching a £2.8m summer national advertising campaign. The TV, press and poster campaign kicks off today and will run until mid-September and is designed to build on JMC’s brand awareness.
Thomas Cook UK and Ireland strategic marketing director Lindsey Allardyce said: “There seems to be an unspoken rule that says don’t advertise in summer which inevitably sees most operators talking to their customers for perhaps only four months of the year.”
Meanwhile, JMChas restructured its marketing team following Allardyce’s recent promotion.
Brand marketing manager Peter Curtis has been promoted to head of marketing and a replacement is being sought for him.
Two further positions are being created – brand strategy manager and new media manager. Meanwhile, Thomas Cook is looking to recruit a new marketing director for its retail and direct business to replace Stephen Vowles who left last month.
