Celebrity cancels inaugural voyage

CELEBRITY Cruises has cancelled the inaugural voyage of its ship Millennium because work on its cabins was not completed in time.

The ship was due to depart Southampton on Saturday for a 14-night cruise to Russia and the Baltic. A Celebrity spokeswoman said British passengers booked on the cruise would receive a full refund and a free holiday on any Celebrity ship between now and October 31. Millennium’s first cruise is now due to depart Amsterdam on July 1. Inaugural celebrations, including a naming ceremony, had yet to be rescheduled as Travel Weekly went to press.
