Turkey: enjoying a return to strong sales this summer
Region sees return to form
TUI HAS reported a swing from Spain to the eastern Mediterranean for this summer as the region begins to shake-off its disastrous season last year.Earthquakes, terrorist threats and the Kosovan crisis saw sales plummet during the year.
But TUI executive board chairman, Dr Ralf Corsten, said a combination of factors was seeing the region – Turkey in particular – bounce back, to the detriment of Spain and its islands.
He said Turkey, Tunisia and Egypt were all performing well this summer.
