n BALES introduces 16-day tour of southwest china


Bales Worldwide has introduced a 16-day southwest China tour which focuses on Yunnan province. Highlights include Beijing, the Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven, the Great Wall and Xi’an. Other sites include Kunming, the Stone Forest in Yunnan, United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organisation heritage site Lijiang, Dali, Xishuangbanna and Bangkok. Prices lead in at £1,899 per person including return flights from London Heathrow, bed and breakfast accommodation and some meals, accompanying tour manager, English-speaking guides, private transport and a sightseeing programme.


n tradewinds adds grand stamford to 2001 brochure


Tradewinds has added the five-star Grand Stamford Inter-Continental to its 2001 brochure, with prices starting at £999 for five-nights room-only, with flights. In Shanghai it has added the four-star plus Pudong Shangri-La.


n ABERCROMBIE and kent offer escorted china tour


Abercrombie and Kent is planning to introduce a programme of five-star escorted tours of China to the next edition of its Discovery brochure, due out in August. It will cover all the main sites in its programme, including Beijing, Shanghai, Xian and the Yangtse river. Prices were not available when Travel Weekly went to press.


n regent hong kong launches summer special


The Regent Hong Kong has launched a Summer 2000 Celebration offer which includes a superior harbour-view room plus breakfast for two people for US$260 per night for a minimum of two nights. The offer is valid up to September 15.
