Red Funnel adds sailings for summer
Isle of Wight ferry operator, Red Funnel is putting on additional sailings from July 21 to September 2 to cope with anticipated summer traffic increases.The operator will have sailings every 50mins instead of every hour from 6am to 9pm during the six-week period when it will offer a total of 24 crossings a day.
To encourage additional business before the start of the busy summer period, the operator has a discounted fare of £46 for a five-day return ferry crossing for a car and four people.
The offer is valid on departures from Southampton from 10am Monday to Friday, and any time Saturday and Sunday, until July 20. It must be booked at least 24hrs before departure.
In a bid to boost shoulder-season business, Red Funnel has introduced special autumn fares for motorhome and caravan owners. Valid from September 1 to December 22, it has an £89 fare which covers return ferry crossing for car, caravan and five people plus pitch fees for five nights at one of a choice of selected island campsites. The five-day fare for a motorhome and up to two passengers is £75.
