Giving a Star performance
AGENTS believe all airlines are on the fiddle – and here’s the proof. Captured during a Vienna get-together are top brass from the 15 Star Alliance airlines. See if you can spot British Midland’s chairman Sir Michael Bishop on the french horn or Lauda Air chief Niki Lauda making a Formula One-style din on cymbals. The 15 executives marched on stage to the strains of dramatic film music and each individual introduction was preceded by a loud burst from the piano. But the best was left to last. While congratulating Sir Michael for joining Star Alliance, a Viennese soundman turned up the CD for a rousing rendition of Elton John’s Made in England. The noble knight grimaced with embarrassment.
