JOB FOCUS:
Gary King, general manager, eastern division, Travel ChoiceEducation and training: six O’ levels in maths, English language, French, geography, business studies and drama. ABTACertificate of Travel Agency Competence level one and two – a self-study course. Numerous and varied in-house and external sales training courses.
First Travel Job: Gary’s work experience placement from school was at 4 Seasons Travel. This led to a Saturday job at the company where, in no time, he was selling holidays.
Advice for people wishing to develop a career in travel: “Commitment and enthusiasm certainly pays off no matter what sector of the trade you choose to join. There are many opportunities within the travel industry and the world is really your oyster.”
