THOMAS Cook is set to drop its existing network suppliers Imminus and X-Tant in favour of rival company Energis.
The multiple is in the final stages of a deal with Energis for all its 800 travel shops for three years from October 1. X-Tant supplies the 350-odd former Carlson Worldchoice outlets while Imminus supplies the rest of Thomas Cook’s shops.
Thomas Cook retail telecoms manager Liam Purdy said it had decided that a pure network supplier like Energis would serve its needs better than Imminus and X-Tant.
However, he stressed that the multiple would still buy travel services like e-commerce and access to tour operators from its two former suppliers.
Purdy said that assuming the deal with Energis is finalised, it would take over Thomas Cook’s network in stages during the run-up to October 1.
Imminus was part of the Thomas Cook group when it was established under the name Fastrak in 1984. It has provided network services to the multiple’s outlets ever since.
