GERMAN car-rental giant Sixt has bought the UK firm United Kenning Rental Group as part of its European expansion.
The price is undisclosed but is believed to be less than £10m.
The takeover gives Munich-based Sixt, situated mainly at UK airports, 270 nationwide branches and a fleet of 29,000 vehicles.
Sixt said it will keep the Kenning name and management for the foreseeable future. However, the name is expected to be used just for the commercial van fleet.
Kenning has 9% of the British car-rental market.
