Package holidays
On-line Travel Company to launch new facility
The On-line Travel Company is planning bookable holiday packages by the end of the year.The Web company receives over 6,000 bookings a month but these are only for individual products such as flights, hotels and car hire. Customers who want to book a package holiday have to contact a call centre or send an e-mail asking a sales consultant to call them.
But according to sales and marketing director Neil Pettifer this will soon change.
“We will have bookable packages by the end of the year but I think many people will continue to use the call-centre facility initially,” he said.
OTC offers many holidays, from city breaks to ski holidays and two-week packages some of which it provides itself although it also sources products from other suppliers. Most recently it signed a deal with Bales Worldwide to sell its Iran and Uzbekistan escorted tours.
The next step for the company is to offer a tailor-made facility where consumers can mix and match products to create their own holidays.
