Transun establishes Egypt breaks programme
DAY TRIP and short-break specialist Transun has expanded into Egypt with a 3,000 capacity programme.A range of one, two and three-night trips to Cairo have been planned with departures from four UK airports – Manchester, Leeds Bradford, Glasgow and Belfast.
Sales director Alison Keeble said: “This is one of our more adventurous moves and shows we are constantly pushing out the boundaries.” She denied that Transun would struggle to make an impact in a destination which is already saturated with specialist and mass-market operators.
“When we first launched a programme to Lapland, not everyone thought it was a wise move,” she said. “Yet we are now carrying 12,000 passengers a year to the Arctic Circle in December alone.
“There’s no reason why this should not prove equally as successful.”
The programme features breaks from December 29 to February 28. Ten-day trips have been planned, with prices leading in at £219.
The two and three-night packages feature four hotels – the Hilton, Meridien, Sofitel Le Sphinx and Four Seasons.
Two-night breaks start at £529 person staying at the Hilton.
